Fire Industry Training (FiT) offers this qualification exclusively as an apprenticeship to registered Sprinkler Fitting Apprentices. Our CPC32820 Certificate III in Fire Protection – Apprenticeship Pathway program covers the knowledge required in all aspects of installation and maintenance of fire protection systems in both domestic and commercial buildings.
The apprenticeship has a nominal completion of four years. FiT delivers the qualification (according to an agreed Training Plan) over three years of Trade School attendance. The schooling is face-to-face, part-time, with regular attendance blocks and is supported by integrated eLearning.
There are a selected number of safety related units of competency and First Aid training delivered and assessed in the first year of training by our partner RTO, CEPUTEC (RTO #4612) who are a specialist Workplace Health and Safety organisation.
The units of competency represent the core and electives selected by FiT, following consultation with industry representatives and regulatory authorities. For a student to be awarded this qualification, they must successfully complete all 37 units of competency (32 core and 5 elective units):
NOTE: In Victoria there are an additional 5 units of competency required to be eligible for registration with the Victorian Building Authority.
